[Application Case] Ensuring Workpiece Performance: Stable Operation Solution for Metalworking Cooling Systems
Solution February 11, 2026
Metalworking part cooling devices are core auxiliary equipment in metal cutting, forming, and other processes. During processing, they rapidly remove heat from the workpiece, preventing deformation, changes in metallographic structure, or property degradation due to overheating. This equipment ensures the stability of machining accuracy, surface quality, and the mechanical properties of the workpiece

Pain Point 1: Harsh machining environment
Machining sites are generally characterized by harsh working conditions such as coolant splashing, dust accumulation, and oil corrosion
The AUCB 8A0B module features an industrial-grade metal casing and a fully sealed potting process, achieving an IP67 protection rating. It effectively resists dust and water intrusion, maintaining stable operation in harsh production environments.
Pain Point 2: Precise Control of Workpiece Performance
Machining places extremely high demands on the dimensional accuracy, surface roughness, and fit tolerances of metal workpieces
The AUCB 8A0B master module connects to slave devices such as flow meters, valve islands, and actuators via the IO-Link protocol.Through real-time monitoring, intelligent diagnostics, and precise control of the cooling process, it ensures stable and controllable cooling performance, guaranteeing that workpiece performance fully meets design specifications.
Pain Point 3: Data Interaction Between Two Mitsubishi PLCs
The two Mitsubishi PLCs are on different network segments. The port network segment configuration function can be performed through the AU7 149H-06A2GF Layer 3 managed switch, which can realize cross-network segment PLC data interaction and communication collaboration, break network restrictions, and ensure smooth system data flow
Solution
This metal machining solution uses a Mitsubishi PLC connected to an AUCB 8A0B master module via the CC-LINK IEFB bus protocol. The AUCB 8A0B exchanges various types of data, including process data, parameter data, and event data, with IO-Link devices such as flow meters and valve islands via the IO-Link protocol. Users can easily set up, diagnose, and manage IO-Link devices and data through IO-Link communication. Sensor faults in the factory can be detected immediately and quickly resolved, improving production efficiency and reducing maintenance costs.

Application effect
Easy to wire and maintain on site
The AUCB 8A0B uses internationally standard connectors for standardized cabling, facilitating easy on-site installation and wiring. Each module location is equipped with a corresponding white label, making fault location readily apparent and significantly reducing maintenance time
High reliability guarantee
IP67 modules undergo a 48-hour live-line aging test before shipment and have passed authoritative certifications such as UL, RoHS, CE, and FCC, making them a trustworthy partner for industry!
