Card-type IO-enabled wastewater treatment equipment

Solution November 5, 2025

On August 24, 2023, Japan discharged nuclear wastewater into the sea, drawing public attention to environmental issues such as marine and water pollution. In my country, water pollution stems from limited and unevenly distributed water resources, and the water treatment industry has not yet fully kept pace with industrial development. However, the government has placed greater emphasis on water treatment in recent years, establishing numerous relevant laws and standards, resulting in significant improvements compared to a decade or so ago

Due to differences in wastewater type, wastewater treatment processes will vary. A typical wastewater treatment process is as follows:

Inlet pump control: The inlet pump is controlled by a Siemens 1200 connected to an IOM PNT via the Profinet protocol, based on the membrane tank level. Analog inputs display the tank level via sensors; a low water level output controls pump start-up, and a high water level output controls pump stop-up. A high water level alarm is triggered in the pump sump collection tank, and a low water level alarm stops the pump and triggers a stop alarm. Pump sequence control ensures equal running time for each pump. The start-up interval between each pump is greater than 3 minutes. In case of a fault, an alarm is triggered, and a backup pump is automatically activated
